In a recording system of the type wherein the information is recorded on a spiral track on a disk-shaped recording medium (1), which is rotated, by a signal transducer (4) which is moved radially with respect to the recording medium (1), an improvement wherein in response to the radial position of the signal transducer (4) or a time elapsed after the recording was started, both the rotational speed or angular velocity of the recording medium (1) and the velocity of the radial movement of the signal transducer (4) are so controlled that the relative velocity of the signal transducer (4) with respect to the recording medium may be always maintained constant.
