<p>The double chamber master cylinder (10) has outlets for connecting to separate brake circuits. It gives a slight difference of pressure between the two chambers. In the higher pressure chamber outlet (36) is a retaining valve (100) loaded to a given value to reduce pressure transmitted to that circuit. The pressure chosen is equal to the difference and the valve gives free passage to return fluid to the chamber. The valve proper (110) is of elastomer with a spring (116). The valve (110) has an axial passage blocked by lips (114) shaped to give free brake fluid return.</p> |
