PURPOSE:To improve the working process and to reduce the manufacturing expenses by adding a specific quantity of Zr to spinodal resolution type magnet alloy the main component of which is an Fe-Cr-Co system one. CONSTITUTION:Fe-Cr-Co system and Fe-Cr-Co-Si system alloys require a solution heat treatment wherein a quenching is rapidly performed after heating at high temperature, a remarkable deterioration of the magnetic characteristic takes place in a thick product due to the mass effect. Also improvements must be made on many points concerning the cold working and the reduction of material cost. When 0.03- 3.5% Zr is added to these alloys by weight, temperature of the solution heat treatment at high temperatures near 1300 deg.C can be lowered, the solution heat treatment can be eased, the mass effect is improved, the cold drawing rate can be increased and ferrochrome can be used to reduce the cost. But, when the rate of Zr exceeds 3.5%, the magnetic characteristic is deteriorated, and when its rate is less than 0.03%, no addition effect is given. |
