<p>An endless loop strap of low elongation and improved stability, and comprising a plurality of closely spaced windings of a warp strand or narrow tape fused together in a closely spaced side-by-side relationship in a flat layer of polymer material. The warp strand has opposed ends on a respective edge of the flat layer. The strap is formed by coating the warp strand with a molten polymer as the strand passes through an extruder die and this strand is then wound on a mandrel in a helical manner with the strands positioned side-by-side. External pressure is applied to the strand to squeeze the molten polymer as it hardens along its travel on the mandrel. The loop straps are formed by severing predetermined widths of a sleeve formed by the warp strands and polymer material on the mandrel.</p> |
