<p>Based on the process according to the invention, a compound of the following formula is oxidized by a mineral oxidizing agent in a solvent, at a temperature ranging between about -15 and 30.degree.C.: in which Z represents a -CH2OH or -CH(OH)CH2OH group. The 2,3-dichloro-4-(2-thenoyl) phenozyacetic acid prepared in this way is a valuable diuretic and uricosuric agent.</p> |
