In an arrangement which contains a programmable element, a first series of characters and/or numbers is converted into a second series of characters and/or numbers that can be programmed on the element. A gate arrangement receives control signals pertaining to the first series of characters and/or numbers and the programmable element contains manually adjustable multiple-path switches arranged in rows and columns. The switches in each row or in each column together form a specific series of characters or numbers manually adjusted at the switches and the number of columns or rows with switch corresponds to the number of positions in the particular specific series of characters or numbers. The gate layout is arranged to detect the current row and the positions in it depending on said control signals, and the outputs of the switches are connected directly to an application element or to a triggering device which can be triggered with control signals. <IMAGE> |
