1482587 Capacitor TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON 6 Sept 1974 [7 Sept 1973] 39147/74 Heading H1M A method of manufacturing a capacitor comprises winding strips of plastics dielectric material and electrode material into a roll with the electrodes offset so as to extend to respective end faces of the roll, applying contact layers to the end faces by spraying molten metal, impregnating the rod under vacuum with a thermosetting resin, removing substantially all the excess resin, heat-treating the roll, with continuous movement, until the resin is cured and pressing lead wires, heated to above the softening temperature of the cured resin, against the contact layers and welding or soldering them thereto. The dielectric material may be polyester, polycarbonate or polystyrene. The electrodes may be metal foil or evaporated or sprayed layers on the dielectric. The impregnant may be epoxy resin. |
