PURPOSE:To obtain excellent lapping effect by arranging the bevel gear or hypoid gear in meshed and rotatory relation with a pinion such that the said bevel or hypoid gear can oscillate in the three-dimensional directions. CONSTITUTION:A column 2 incorporates a gear shaft 4 disposed transversely to the guide slots 1a provided on a bed 1. A pinion shaft box 5 is adjustable in its position on the bed 1 along the guide slots 1b and pivotally supports the pinion shaft 6 arranged vertical to the shaft 4. Mounted at the corresponding ends of both shafts 4 and 6 are a gear G and a pinion P in meshed relation, and an oscillating lever 7 is pivotally secured to a bracket 3a on the interior of the gear shaft box 3. A bearing 8 with lugs is pivotally supported by the shaft 4 passed through a central hole thereof and has the upper and lower pins 8a, 8b at its lugs on the diametrical line. A pin 8c is also provided sidewise the central part of said bearing 8. Thus, the shaft 4 can oscillate in the three-dimensional directions, that is, vertical, sidewise and back and forth, in accordance with oscillation of the lever 7 to produce a good lapping effect. |
