Title compd. (I), useful as herbicides at cotton field, was prepd. by the reaction of 3-hydrocarbanylic acid ethyl ester and N-methylaniline with phosgen in organic solvent. ! Thus, 18.1 g (0.1 mol) 3-hydroxycarbvanylic acid ethyl ester and 24.2 g (0.2 mol) N-methyl aniline dissolved in 50 ml dioxane were added to 9.89 g(0.1 mol) COCL2 at 20-25≦̸C in 50 ml dioxane and then refluxed for 90 min to give I.
