The invention relates to a cable which is made up of triangular strands 1 of wedge-shaped profile which are each in the form of wires wound on a core 2. At least some of the wires of the strand 1 are joined together into twined wire groups A in which the wires are sector- shaped and are in contact with one another along helical surfaces. With this structural design of the cable consisting of triangular strands 1, it is possible to use thin and consequently more flexible and stronger wires, as a result of which the cable has a high degree of strength and flexibility and can therefore be used in different branches of industry, for example in hoisting mechanisms of large or small drum diameter. <IMAGE> |
