A quick dressing comprises a support tape made of a fibre cloth having on one side an adhesive layer and a support layer for the wound which only partially covers the support tape; the support tape is made of a porous polyester fibre cloth woven or non-woven, free of binder, prepd. by the 'spun-laced' process. Recently thicker air impermeable woven supports have been replaced to an increasing degree of non-woven sheets which are thinner and air permeable to a controlled extent. However, they have a low elasticity, lack a soft touch, and often require additives which must not affect the skin. The above support combines the advantages of both supports above without their respective disadvantages. |
