PURPOSE:To obtain metal for vacuum deposition which is capable of being held exactly as melt droplets on heating element when melted by forming a number of thin pieces by notching the corrugated tips of a corrugated thin plate. CONSTITUTION:A thin plate of silver, etc., is folded into a corrugated shape and the plural notches 2 are provided along the corrugated tips so as to form the plural thin pieces 3 together integrally. Then, the metal 1 for vacuum deposition is put on the zigzag portion 7 of the heating element 4 of tungsten twisted wire, etc., formed into a zigzag shape and then melted by electrically energizing the heating element 4, whereupon the metal becomes the plural small melt droplets 8 by being divided at the thin pieces 3 by surface tension and is held among twisted wires. Because the melt small droplets 8 do not fall down because of great surface tension, they are exactly held on the heating element 4. The metal for vacuum deposition can be used in the vacuum deposition of the inside of reflecting mirror, etc., for shield beam type lamp, etc. |
