The appliance comprises a stationary frame (10) in which the pipe can be clamped by means of clamping jaws (24, 26) and a hollow-cylinder tool carrier (40) which rotates relative to the frame about the pipe axis. The tool carrier is mounted in the frame (10) and has drive elements on its outer periphery, while fastening devices (60) for different tools are provided on its end face remote from the clamping jaws. This enables the pipe to be held stationary during the treatment, the respective tool, e.g. a circular saw, cut-off disc, flanging or folding tool, being moved around the pipe. <IMAGE>
