<p>The tree transplanting equipment mounted behind a tractor, includes two side frames (5a, 5b) which are swung together about a central vertical pivot axis at the tractor end to enclose the tree trunk (18). These support between them two cutter halves (11) which are swung about a horizontal axis, extending from the bottom of the frames, while they rest on the ground, so as to cut a hemispherical ball of earth (22) around the roots. The whole system can then be liften upwards by lifting cylinders, to transport the tree with the earth ball attached to its roots. The frame has upper members (34, 35) which grip the tree trunk higher up to stabilise it as it is transported.</p> |
