One section of a pipe (5) is tapered so that it forms a stop for a plug (18) of the pipe. The connection of the pipe (5) to the plug (18) is sealed by drawing the tapered pipe (5) through a die (20), the plug (18) being situated during this process in the tapered section of the pipe. This method makes it possible to produce a completely leaktight connection between the pipe and the plug for the same. <IMAGE>
