<p>The church heating system uses a relatively small amount of energy and does not cause any dust collections due to convection from the floors. The heating elements (10, 11) are installed in the pews and the heating surface is supplied with the required amount of current. The seating area of the pews has cushions, loosely fitted to the pews by means of pushbuttons (25). Each bench has its own switch with an illuminated indicator. The supply cables for the heating element run inside the pews. The heating can be thermostatically controlled, and a display lamp is illuminated when the power supply is connected. In one embodiment, a microswitch is fitted under the seat and this is switched on by the weight of the occupant.</p> |
