<p>Dry cell coprises (a) a zinc anode can, (b) a depolariser of MuO2, carbon black and ZnCl2 as electrolyte, (e) a separator made of a sheet of paper and a gelatinous paste formed on the surface opposite that in contact with the inside of the can to separate the zinc from the depolariser. (d) a carbon electrode as cathode collecter, (e) a plastic sealant cap to seal the top of the can except where the carbon rod cathodes collecter passes through a hole in the centre of the cap. (f) a sealing filler to fill the annular space between the cap and the C-rod., (g) a sleeve in plastic enclosing the can, the upper part of which extends into the circular opening and embedded in the filler material, (h) a sealant cap of plastic, forming a lid for the cathode which is integral with it and extends above the plastic seal from below it. Rick of electrolyte loss is reduced.</p> |
