An electrode coating for a ceramic positive temp. coefft. resistance to make it solderable. It can be applied in a mass prodn. system. The supplies used will be >=12 volt and it is also suitable for mains alternating voltages. The layer is made from a noble metal such as treated silver and is applied directly to the surface of the resistance material. It can be applied by plasma injection, sputtering or precipitation. The specific resistance of the material is greater than 1000 ohm-cm. The terminal leads are soldered to the electrode coatings.
