1474485 Friction clutches ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 27 Jan 1975 [28 Jan 1974] 3490/75 Heading F2C In a combination of two input clutches K1, K2 for a motor vehicle planetary change speed gear wherein friction discs 19, 21 are splined at 18, 25 to a disc carrier 17 which is connected to an input shaft 10 via teeth 15, 16 and a servo chamber 11 of the clutch K1, the disc carrier 17 and chamber 11 are die-castings and the teeth 15, 16 and splines 18, 25 are formed during the casting process. A reaction plate 20 of the clutch K1 is formed integrally with the disc carrier 17 to simplify assembly and prevent heated oil leaving the clutch K1 from flowing towards the clutch K2. The splines 25 may be radially inwardly open and the carrier disc 17 formed with channels 24 to facilitate the flow of cooling oil through the clutch K2. The output discs of the clutches K1, K2 are splined to a hub and to a second clutch servo chamber 23 which hub and servo chamber are respectively connected to elements of the planetary gear. |
