PURPOSE:To enable optional magnification variation with simple constitution by providing a line memory for storing document image data of one line, a magnification setting means for setting an optional magnification variation rate, a read control means, and a write control means, etc. CONSTITUTION:The read control means 10 consists of a magnification variation coefficient generating means 10a, an up counter 10b, a multiplier 10c, a maximum address value generating means 10b, etc., and controls a read of the line memory 5 according to the variable magnification rate set by the magnification setting means 9. Then the write control means 8 supplies sequential addresses to the memory 5 to store document image data of one line and then addresses corresponding to the variable magnification set by the means 9 previously to read variable magnification image data, which is varied in magnification in a main scanning direction. Then a subscanning driving means 12 is brought under PLL control to a speed corresponding to the variable magnification to perform magnification variation in a subscanning direction. Consequently, an image of optional magnification is obtained with the simple constitution. |
