Pig swill is prepared in a tank in which an immersed pump on a central shaft effects a circulation. Dry powder which is strewed on the water surface is drawn into the liquid by an impeller on a second motor-drivenshaft just under the surface. This impeller is slowed down or stopped when the swill is emptied and the level drops below a set limit. This tank ensures that no swill is wasted and that no contaminants in the tank can spoil the appetite of the pigs.
