The equipment detects empty cells accommodating bottles in a processing machine, the bottles being passed in a number of rows through the individual processing stations, and loading and discharge stations being provided for each row. Between the stations is a rake-shaped detector member (1'), whose tines (1) can be inserted in the cells (8). If one of these is still full, the member triggers a pulse providing a delay for halting the drive mechanism moving the cells. The detector member has a plunger action moved by a rolling member (6) in contact with the profile surface of a small cam (7) which is in abutment with a large cam (9) which also has a profile edge to operate the motor drive switch (12).
