Elastomer support pads for building components - with parallel triangular ribs of different size on the two sides

Non-reinforced pads of elastomer have found ready acceptance in the building industry to compensate for slight surface and alignment inaccuracies and to act as protection against the ingress of moisture and the transmission of vibrations. It is now suggested to provide parallel triangular ribs on both sides of the support strips of natural or synthetic rubber. The ribs on one side are much larger than those on the other side, with the base of the large triangles covering, e.g. three bases of the small triangles. The strips can be assembled either with the small triangles facing each other, or with the large triangles in contact to suit different applications. The pref. Shore hardness is 50 - 70 A. Varying elasticity makes the strips usable more universally.
