Mirror mechanism for SLR camera - has small bottom flap in light shaft to complete light proofing

The mirror tilting mechanism has the mirror pivoted in a shaft leading to the film plane. The edges of the mirror mounting plate are turned over to lock into flanges on the sides of the shaft and to form an light-proof fitting. The space between the bottom edge of the mirror and the bottom of the shaft is sealed by a narrow flap pivoted on the bottom of the case. An additional flap has turned over edges to locate in similar flanges on the sides of the shaft and to form a light proof fitting with the flange at the bottom of the mirror support plate. The mirror, in the viewing position, fully covers the film plane without any chance of stray light hitting the film.
