The plant watering system for home use, has a water reservoir vessel (2) forming an extension of the flower pot or vessel containing a plant (5) to be watered. A wick (3) connects the reservoir with the pot, supplying water by capillary action. The wick is enclosed by a plastics sleeve (4) to prevent evaporation into the atmosphere. The sleeve covers the bent part of the wick where it emerges above the water level and bends down again inside the pot.
