摘要 <p>The seal between the drum and the barrel is a sleeve which is coaxial with the drum cartridge seat. This sleeve slides in the annular gap which is concentric with the cartridge set. The diameter of this annular groove is slightly greater than the cartridge case diameter. In Fig. 2 the seal annular seat(1 b) is connected by four tapping channels (1 a, b) to the seat bore(1 e) in the drum housing(1). Gases which enter these channels push the sleeve forward into the sealing position. The diameter of the connecting tapping channels is equal to or smaller than one millimetre. The outside diameter of the sealing ring is about eight percent greater than the maximum cartridge case diameter. These are optimum dimension for the sealing arrangement. Deviations from these dimensions may cause jamming or distortion of the sealing arrangement.</p>
