DC reversible series motors LTM, RTM driving a vehicle are supplied by respective thyristor rectifier bridges LTB, RTB whose firing angles are controlled by regulators DSR, DSR', each receiving a reference signal representative of a desired motor current, a signal CFB, CFB' representative of the actual current, and a signal VFDB, VFDB' of the voltage across the motor, whereby during driving each bridge is controlled to maintain the current at the reference value, but when the motor is under regenerative load the voltage signal VFDB, VFDB' limits the reference signal to a predetermined value to limit the current output of the bridge. The output may be limited to a number of predetermined levels corresponding to the extent of the regenerative load on the motor as sensed by the signal VFDB, VFDB'. <IMAGE> |
