Sand dewatering and desliming - in Dorrtyde thickener and vibratory dewatering screen

Solids/liq. mixt. is dewatered and deslimed in a sand treatment plant, specially for concrete work, in a separator, followed by a dewatering screen. The separator is designed as a Dorr-type thickener for desliming between a particle size of 0-0.1 mm. to produce a concentrate with a solids content of 500-1100 g/l. The screen is a vibratory wedge-wire dewatering screen with a gap opening width adjustable from 0.3-1.0 mm. The need for the introduction of a hydrocyclone is eliminated, and appts. has a lower power consumption.
