<p>PURPOSE:To treat gas efficiently, by making a number of small penetrating holes, which is inclined against the cylinder axis, with films of absorbing fluid formed on a rotatable, cylindrical, gas-absorption element, and by making the gas to be treated pass through the small penetrating holes without clogging of the holes with excess absorbing fluid. CONSTITUTION:A flat net plate 1 and a wavelike net plate 2 are piled one upon the other and are wound around a core material 3 to form a cylindrical gas-absorbing element 9. The ridgelines 4, 4a of the net plate 2 are inclined against the axis 5 of the cylinder at an angle about 5-30 deg.. Then the element 9 is rotated at a speed 6-30rpm with the axis 5 placed nearly horizontally, and gas-absorbing fluid 12 such as aq. NaOH soln. is adhered to the net plates 1, 2 to form a continuous plane 6. Hereby a number of small holes 8 are made, which penetrate from one end of the element 9 to the other end at an inclination to the shaft 5. A gas contg. the gas to be absorbed such as SO2 etc. is made pass through a duct 10 so that the gas is absorbed by the gas-absorbing fluid 12 in the element 9, hence the gas to be treated is cleaned, and the absorbing fluid having absorbed the gas is replaced in sequence by fresh absorbing fluid in the fluid tank 11.</p> |
