Triazolone herbicides of the formula: <IMAGE> I where V is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl or OR where R is alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms; X is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, cyano, methyl, methoxy, or nitro; Y is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, or methyl; n, m is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4; Q is oxygen or sulfur; Z is oxygen, S(O)p or NR'; p is 0, 1 or 2 and R' is alkyl of 1-3 carbon atoms with the provisos that (1) n+m=2, 3, or 4; and (2) if n+m=2 or 4 then Y, X NOTEQUAL H and when Z is S(O)p, n is 1, 2, 3 or 4.
