METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SEALING THE ENDS OF UNDERGROUND CABLE PIPES The present invention relates to an improved method and device for sealing the ends of underground cable pipes against water penetration. The device comprises an elastic cylinder, a pair of flanges and nuts and bolts. The cylinder is sandwiched between the flanges and fitted between the cable and cable pipe. The elastic cylinder is secured to the inner surface of the cable pipe by tightening the nuts and bolts to compress the cylinder between the flanges. A lubricating substance is provided between the cable and the axial hole in said cylinder to permit the cable to slide relative to the cylinder but to effect a tight seal. In this way, a water-tight seal can be obtained which will not harden or fall out and which allows the cable to move in the cable pipe.
