A water flow control system comprising two water conduits enclosed in a casing, one conduit being the cold water inlet, the second a hot water inlet, wherein the two inlet conduits are parallel and spacedapart in the upper portion of the casing and coverage in a Y configuration in the lower portion of the casing finally merging in a common outlet. Two identical pairs, one above the other, and both pairs above the Y configuration, of pressure responsive valves are disposed in the conduits and both valves of a pair, one in each conduit, co-operate by means of a rigid, balanced linkage to a central transverse pivot, whereby, as one valve closes in reaction to increase pressure in its inlet conduit, its correspondin valve in the other conduit opens, as in a teater-totter action, a plate is provided under each valve, has an aperture therein (to permit water flow) and abutment means to limit downward motion of a valve without totally shutting off water flow. The two identical pairs of valves instantly respond to the slightest pressure difference between the inlet conduits and co-act to maintain a constant outlet water temperature, the only secondary effect being a slight decrease in outlet pressure until initial pressure is restored.
|
