PURPOSE:To improve the yield and reduce the production costs by preventing the exhaust gas from infiltration into the inner hole of the solid electrolyte tube with a Venturi type construction utilizing a negative pressure due to the velocity of flow of the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:A suction tube 14 soldered on a Venturi member 16 is mounted at the lower end of the cover 11 as sandwitched by an oxygen ion conducting solid electrolyte tube 1 and the cover 11. It is so arranged that the Venturi member sucks the exhaust gas otherwise rising to the top of the tube 1 utilizing a negative pressure due to the flow of the exhaust gas. With such arrangement, the exhaust gas is prevented from infiltration into the inner hole of the tube 1. This can reduce factors affecting the airtightness thereby improving the yield. As there is no need for the platinum paste baked layer for soldering, only a thin layer is required for conduction. Thus, the production can be reduced. |
