1405692 Chlorinated hydrocarbon solvent compositions UDDEHOLMS AB 1 May 1973 [3 May 1972] 20692/73 Heading C5D A method of cleaning a soldered electronic article from fluxing agent and other impurities comprises washing the article with a solvent composition consisting of at least one alcohol containing 4-6 C atoms in a quantity of 3-50% by wt. and at least one solvent from perchlorethylene, trichlorethylene and methyl chloroform in a quantity of 50-97% wt. In a modification, the solvent composition consists of at least one alcohol containing 3 C atoms, e.g. a mixture of 1-propanol and 2-propanol in a quantity of 3-15% wt. and 85-97% wt. of perchlorethylene. The alcohol may be aliphatic or cycloaliphatic. The preferred composition contains perchlorethylene and especially an azeotropic mixture of pentanol (10-20% wt.) and perchlorethylene. For this solvent, alcohols having boiling points of 115-150‹ C. are preferred, e.g. 1-butanol, cyclopentanol, 1- hexene-3-ol, cyclopentanol and many others. |
