PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in operating characteristics and prevent the occurrence of inconveniences by controlling the operation of a residual charge eliminator, etc. at the turning ON of power source according to the storage content decision of memory elements thereby coping with abnormality. CONSTITUTION:When power source is turned ON by turning ON the main switch MSW of the copying machine, the ON and OFF of the original platen home position switch and photosensitive drum home position switch which serve also as memory elements are decided by way of a CPU. When the original platen, photosensitive drum, etc. fail to reset to their home positions to cause copying to be stopped and the switches are OFF to store abnormality, then a magnet conductor MC is energized by the jump process by the CPU, causing an AC switching element SSR to conduct for the specified time. The removal of residual charges by a destaticizing charger is then accomplished by a high voltage power source PP. Similarly, jam, copying machine heat-retaining heating elements, etc. are also controlled according to abnormality storage contents and the treatment to cope with the abnormality occured is process-controlled only at the occurrence of abnormality, whereby the operating characteristic of the copying machine is improved and the occurrence of inconveniences prevented. |
