PURPOSE:To obtain a homogeneous ceramic having excellent machinability at a low cost by mixing fluorinated phlogopite with talc, repeating the calcining and crushing of the mixed powder at a specified temp. plural times, adding a binder to the product, forming, and sintering the product. CONSTITUTION:The OH group of naturally occurring phlogopite is substituted for fluorine to obtain fluorinated phlogopite shown by the formula KMg3AlSi3 O10F2. The equivalents amts. of the fluorinated phlogopite and talc are charged in a ball mill, etc., and mixed. The mixed powder is then calcined at >=1000 deg.C, and the obtained solid soln. is crushed by a ball mill, etc., into fine particles having 20-30mu long side, and uniformly mixed. The calcining and crushing are repeated plural times. A binder such as phosphoric acid is added to the mixture, and the product is formed into a specified shape, and sintered, for example, at about 1200 deg.C for 0.5-2hr. |
