The container gas generator adapted to release CO2 and H2 when water is contacted with chemical tablets. When the container is standing upright, a perforated, rigid box is located in the lower part of the container space. The box contains >=1 tablet to generate CO2 in contact with water. This first tablet supports a tablet which will generate H2 with water. Used as controlled atmos. container for the anaerobic culture of microorganisms. System avoids too rapid generation of H2 while ensuring complete release of CO2.
