The central control is for swivelling a series of motor-driven venetian blinds which have vertically set slats displaceable horizontally and able to swivel together about their common axis, with drive set alternately for horizontal movement and for swivelling. Slat swivelling for all the blinds is set in motion only when a guiding blind has attained the start position for such a movement. This may be effected by a switch unit activated at the onset of sideways displacement, with an adjustable delay mechanism. The guiding blind may have its own drive with relatively reduced speed of displacement. This facilitates synchronous swivelling, with evenly distributed screening and angle setting according to intensity of light outside.
