Microprogrammed calculator with two basic structural levels - contg. horizontal and vertical memory units respectively for determining and executing micro instructions

The calculator has its basic structure arranged into two subassembly levels. The first level contains a first memory unit (horizontal) connected to a 'closed' bus and determining the address of the next microinstruction as a function of the present. The second level contains a second memory unit (vertical) connected to an 'open' bus and permitting microprocessing as a function of microinstructions determined by the first memory unit. A transfer network allows the two levels to communicate with one another. The transfer network contains horizontal and vertical data transfer circuits and horizontal/vertical interchange transfer circuit. The interchange transfer circuit has a register and a memory.
