Application of dyestuffs and/or chemicals to fabrics or non-woven materials is effected using an electrostatic field in which the dyestuff and/or chemicals are applied. Process ensures that the applied matter is accepted consistently over the whole of the fabric, on the surface and also in the core of the material. This allows the use of a wide variety of finishing and treatment materials to be applied, and also gives controlled dyed effects with unvarying results.
