Tie connecting interspaced sheet pile walls - is made in lengths with enlarged spherical ends forming articulating couplings of ball and socket type

The structural tie (3) may connect to parallel interspaced sheet pile walls with filling material between, and utilises ball and socket end anchorages (1, 2) to compensate for site inaccuracies in the alignment. The tie is built up from standard lengths with mutually articulating joints between each length. Each length may be of uniform dia. with an integral enlarged spherical head (7) at both ends. The heads fit in tubular cups (25) with threaded external cylindrical surface. The interior base of the cups is spherically concave to seat a head and has an axial hole equal to the dia. of the tie (3).
