PURPOSE:To obtain a miniature and lightweight broad-band phase shifter by using a couple of couples two-wire circuits and a couple of switches. CONSTITUTION:Lines are composed of coupled two-wire circuits 1 and 2; one line 1 uses one of four terminal as an input terminal and the other end of the line provided with this input terminal is used as an output terminal while two remaining terminals are grounded. The other line 2 uses one of four terminals as an input terminal, and a terminal farther than the input terminal of the line different from the line provided with this input terminal is used as an output terminal while two remaining terminals are grounded. The balancing system characteristic impedance of coupled two-wire circuits 1 and 2 is equal to a load resistance and the both are equalized in length (l). To select the input terminal and output terminal, unipolar double throw switches 3 and 4 are provided. Without reference to a frequency, the phase with switches 3 and 4 placed upward leads or lags by 180 degrees that with the both set to the lower sides. |
