<p>A moulding having at least one lubricating nipple formed integrally with it, and in which the grease channel is constricted at both ends, has at the free nipple end a spring-loaded plug such as a ball, and forms a component of a synthetic bearing. The bearing is intended for supporting heavily loaded moving machine details such as pivots shafts, slides, etc. and provides for lubrication of the bearing surfaces by at least one nipple, from outside. For pref. the moulding is of polyamide, and esp. of polyamide 6. To provide an improved bearing component of synthetic material with a self-sealing lubricant nipple, which whilst ensuring a durable closure, is simple and cheap to produce. The bearing component is part of a hay handling machine and fits in the rotary frame of a rotary rake where it receives an arm carrying a pivoting prong. The bearing is produced by casting or injection moulding in one piece complete with the nipple, the lubricant channel of which is constricted at both ends. The synthetic materal used, whilst being stable in the finished condition and retains its form, is to a certain degree, flexible and yielding. When the moulding has set, a spring is inserted in the free end of the nipple, and a ball slightly larger in diameter than the cross-section of the free end of the grease channel, is pressed into it.</p> |
