The screen printing system for the production of multi layer printed circuits has a precision mechanism to ensure accurate alignment. The isolating plates, e.g. of aluminium oxide, for carrying the printed circuit (28) is located on the compound table (36, 37) on the silk screen layer (38). The table has x, y slides together with a rotary table (35). The complete assembly may be moved vertically on guide bars (32, 33) by a motor driven (49) leadscrew (39) until alignment stops (54, 57) are located. An upper unit contains a film (18) held in a carrier within a precision location to ensure precise alignment.
