Corner joint for plastics panels of bin - uses edge return groove housing rebated counter edge with inner wall cut short to obtain vertical stops

Made of injection moulded plastics or similar, the panels are used in combinations to assemble receptacle such as waste paper bins, utilising a tight fitting tongue and groove type jointing of conjunctive vertical edges. A typical basket has a square plan with an identical panel constituting each wall. One vertical edge of each panel has a short square return, the opposite end having an external rectangular rebate. The return has a rectangular groove which receives the rebated counter end of the conjunctive panel, and the internal wall of the groove is terminated a definite distance from the top and bottom panel edges. The terminal shoulders serve as stops locating the two panels in the correct vertical relationship, and may be engaged by counter panel end lugs jointed by a reinforcing bar.
