<p>The carry-forward device has several elementary carry-forward units each having a carry input, four pairs of inputs and four outputs. The four outputs deliver respectively: a carry output signal, an intermediate carry signal, a propagation carry signal and a generation carry signal. The carry-forward units are connected together and to elementary arithmetic units such that each carry input of one arithmetic unit is connected to one output of the carry unit. The outputs of certain carry units not connected to a carry input of an arithmetic unit are connected to a carry input of at least one carry unit. The outputs of all arithmetic units except those corresponding to digits with the largest weighting are connected to the inputs of at least one carry unit. The outputs of certain carry units are connected to the inputs of other carry units.</p> |
