HIGH SOLID CONTENT ACTIVE CLAY SLURRY COMPOSITION AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To prevent time change of a developer for a pressure-sensitive recording paper by admixing a specified amount of a magnesium compound having a specified solubility to an acid-treated active clay slurry or to a mixture of acid-treated active clay and an inert clayey substance. CONSTITUTION:A high solid content active clay slurry is prepared by admixing 0.5-10wt% (based on the amount of active clay) of a magnesium compound having a solubility lower than 0.2g/(100g of water) to a mixture of acid-treated active clay and an inert clayey substance or to an active clay slurry formed by blending a binder with acid-treated active clay. Acid-treated montmorillonite clay or bentonite clay is used as the inert clayey substance. The weight ratio of the active clay to the inert clayey substance is preferably in the range of 100/0-30/70.
