The fan accessory is particularly for lateral-channel compressors, changing them over between suction and blower operation. The suction and pressure branches (3, 4) of the fan and also that (7) for the consumer unit end at the cylindrical inner wall (5) of a chamber (6) in the housing through which they pass. The single inlet and discharge air branch also passes through a wall of this chamber (6). The consumer unit branch is connected to the suction or discharge branch as desired by a pipe bend (11) turning in the cylindrical chamber (6) about the axis of the latter.
