For an insulating-material insert between windings of transformers which are not subjected to any pressing in order to form square or rectangular winding cross-sections, a cellulose-fibre paper, for example press board, is subjected to a stamping process in order to produce a rippled or pitted effect or the like in the form of points. Only the peaks of the bulges thus obtained are coated with dissolved epoxy resin, and the material is then dried out until the adhesive is dry to the touch. When used between windings of an electrical apparatus, heating to above at least 110 DEG C is sufficient to cure the epoxy resin and thus to connect the wires of the windings and the insulating material.
