An electrolytic plant for the treatment of effluents uses consumable anodes which encourage by their ions the flocculation of contaminants. The anodes alternate with cathodes in a tank and are supported relative to each other and to the outer tank walls by spring loaded spacers, with a freedom of adjustment of the spacing. A stainless steel tank houses an assembly of cathodes (4) and anodes (5), supported along their edges by rods (6,7,8). Flexible cables (14) joint all cathodes. Each cathode has three bores (one top centre, two on bottom) with a ring (24) in which a rubber sleeve (23) shrouds a spiral spring (21). These springs support the anodes relative to each other and to the tank walls. A threaded stem (19) with a collar can be used to adjust the spacing (double arrow B).
|
